Just bought this DJ 116233 last week and was quite pleased to score my first ever lucky crown. (seller's pic) My very first Rolex, a SS DJ 36, was lucky enough to have a lucky crown. Seems pretty odd for the Rolex Crown to line up perfectly straight and vertical on the side of the watch. I have seen this on a few pieces, but surprised this isn't a subtle detail collectors or enthusiasts look for. We all know that most Rolex crowns do not line up when screwed down. My question is: do they do this on purpose because its become a hallmark of the brand? Rolex has stated on their own website that their Triplock is rated to 500 Bar with the crown unscrewed. A finger tight crown seal would not resist a pressure of 500 Bar, that is the function of the internal stem seals.
